Minnesota State Community and Technical College (M State) has partnered with Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM) and St. Cloud State University (SCSU) to offer university-bound community college students an exciting opportunity to make the most of their education while reducing their student debt. The Council for Aid to Education (CAE) has recently recognized M State as a Spotlight Institution for its Up2U program. The Up2U program is designed to encourage and train M State faculty to create discipline-specific tasks within their courses to diagnose Up2U program students’ critical-thinking and written-communications skills. Student mastery of performance tasks are assessed upon completion at M State using the CLA+. Students meeting established requirements are then granted financial assistance of $500 – $5000 a year in their transfer to either MSUM or SCSU.
