Ron Anderson Named Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs

Ron_Anderson_Final ST. PAUL, Minn., May 20, 2015 – The Board of Trustees of Minnesota State Colleges and Universities today appointed Ron Anderson as vice chancellor for academic and student affairs. His appointment becomes effective July 1, 2015.

“Ron Anderson brings to the role of vice chancellor a rich set of leadership experiences that are absolutely critical to student success at all of our colleges and universities,” said Steven Rosenstone, chancellor of Minnesota State Colleges and Universities. “He will help deliver on our commitment to provide access to an extraordinary education for all Minnesotans.”

Anderson has served as president of Century College since 2011. Previously, he served Century College as vice president of academic affairs and vice president of finance and administration. At Capella University, his roles included vice president of curriculum, assessment, and academic records, vice provost of academic affairs, and interim vice president of elearning. He served Minneapolis Community and Technical College as associate vice president of academic and student affairs, dean of academic affairs, associate dean of academic affairs, and director of research and planning. Dr. Anderson taught for ten years in the psychology and educational psychology programs at the University of Minnesota and St. Catherine University. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Saint Olaf College and a master’s degree and doctorate from the University of Minnesota.

The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system includes 24 two-year community and technical colleges and seven state universities serving more than 410,000 students. It is the fifth-largest higher education system of its kind in the United States.
