DESCRIPTION:October 28 – November 17\, 2024\n\nShort Course\nDescription \nCo-curricular assessment of student learning continues to be a hot topic in the higher education assessment and accreditation landscape. This 3-week course will provide participants with strategies and resources for implementing and strengthening co-curricular assessment in departments and functional areas with a unit-level focus. The course is intended for a broad audience of front-line practitioners\, as well as Directors and other leaders in Student Affairs\, Student Services and Enrollment Management. Participants will have opportunities to share institutional perspectives and examples and engage with exercises and tools to support customized approaches to the “why\,” the “how\,” and the “what” of accomplishing this important work. \nFrom the Facilitator\n \nDirect link: Co-curricular short course intro \nCourse Learning Objectives \n\nDescribe the purpose/benefits of the co-curricular assessment process\, including trends and current states in general (HLC) and at own institution\nExplain what co-curricular means  in the context of HLC\, professional organizations\, and to your institutions\nCreate co-curricular learning outcomes\nCreate a co-curricular assessment plan\n\nSuggested Audience \nStudent Affairs Directors\, Student Services Directors\, Enrollment Management Directors\, Staff and Faculty Co-Curricular Assessment leaders and champions\, Assessment Committee Members\, Accreditation Liaison Officers (ALOs). \nEstimated Time Commitment \nThe course is designed to be 2-4 hours of work per week to complete.  \nReflect on your Professional Development \nAs you progress through this course\, please consider how you can use the assignments as a way to highlight your work on your Professional Development Plan.
