SUMMARY:Improving Your Online Course: Summer 2021 (2 week short course)
DESCRIPTION:July 19 – August 1\, 2021\nDescription \nThe “Improving Your Online Course” workshop explores the Quality Matters Rubric and provides a framework to improve the quality of online courses. Participants use the QM Rubric to review their own online courses and develop a course improvement plan.  \nThe content is based on the essential Specific Review Standards of the Quality Matters Rubric. Participants come away with a plan for course improvement so enrolling in the workshop with a pre-developed online course is required. \nCourse Learning Objectives \nAfter completing this course\, participants will be able to:  \n\nRecognize the foundational concepts of Quality Matters. \nApply the essential Specific Review Standards of the Quality Matters Rubric to your own online course. \nDescribe the alignment of at least one module/unit in your online course. \nPrioritize improvements to your online course. \n\nTechnical Skill Requirements\n\nUse a web browser  \nCreate\, save and upload Word documents  \nNavigate Microsoft Windows  \nCreate and send an email using your Minnesota State account  \nEvaluate and decide whether or not to use OneDrive  \nPerform basic tasks associated with the following D2L Brightspace tools: Content\, Quizzes and Assignments\n\nSuggested Audience \nFaculty (Full-time and part-time)\, Instructional Designers and Technologists\, and Faculty Developers/Trainers  \nEstimated Time Commitment \nMost participants are able to complete this course by committing 4-6 hours per week.  \nReflect on your Professional Development \nAs you progress through this course\, please consider how you can use the assignments as a way to highlight your work on your Professional Development Plan. Consider sharing your work with your leadership team.  \nRegistration Required\nUse the RSVP tool below to register. Because we need time to enroll participants into the corresponding D2L Brightspace Course site\, we will close RSVPs the Thursday prior to the start of this course.
