SUMMARY:Inclusive Video Conferencing (Spring 2025)
DESCRIPTION:January 27 – February 16\, 2025\nShort Course\nLearn practical strategies to create equitable and engaging video conferencing classes/meetings. Experience and practice how to model and maintain equitable and accessible spaces in a video conference environment (Zoom\, Teams Meetings\, etc.). \nParticipation in at least 2 of 3 weekly Zoom meetings is required to complete this course. Meeting date/times: \n\nWednesday Jan. 29\, 2-3pm\, CST\nWednesday Feb. 5\, 2-3pm\, CST\nWednesday Feb. 12\, 2-3pm\, CST\n\nLearning Objectives\n\nReflect on the experience of participating in inclusive video conferences.  \nAdopt video conference facilitation techniques that support inclusive teaching methods. \nPractice strategies for maintaining equitable learning spaces during video conferencing sessions. \nApply strategies to support accessible video conferencing sessions. \n\nSuggested Audience \nFaculty (Full-time and part-time)\, Instructional Designers and Technologists\, Faculty Developers/Trainers\, and Concurrent Enrollment instructors. \nEstimated Time Commitment \nMost participants are able to complete this course by committing 4-6 hours per week. \nReflect on your Professional Development \nAs you progress through this course\, please consider how you can use the assignments as a way to highlight your work on your Professional Development Plan.
