SUMMARY:Using Pressbooks to Enhance OER Delivery: Spring 2022
DESCRIPTION:March 21 – April 10\, 2022\nShort Course\nDescription\nPressbooks is an online platform designed to encourage self-publication under a Creative Commons license.  It is easy to use and provides a variety of options for including media such as images and videos.  This short course will introduce you to the platform\, walk you through creating a free account\, and provide you with tools and resources to help you start your own publication. By the end of the course\, you will have a Pressbooks account\, a title and placeholder for a publication\, and a chapter outline of your work. \nLearning objectives:\nParticipants will be able to… \n\nExplain how Pressbooks can be applied to an individual scholarship plan\nConsider 2-3 possible topics for publication in Pressbooks\nIdentify options for including culturally responsive teaching practices and accessibility using the Pressbooks platform.\nDemonstrate knowledge of the Pressbooks Dashboard through the design of a book shell with a title\, front matter\, part\, chapter\, and back matter.\n\n\nRegistration Required\nUse the RSVP tool below to register. There is a limit of 30 participants per course. \nBecause we need time to enroll participants into the corresponding D2L Brightspace Course site\, we will close RSVPs the Friday prior to the start of this course.  \nReminders Coming:  We use the email address you provided to send you reminder emails as the event date gets closer\, but we suggest you add this event to your calendar.  \nData Use \nCampuses may want to know if their faculty are using the educational development resources and opportunities made available from Minnesota State to best tailor their on-campus offerings.
