The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities and the Minnesota Department of Education is continuing to work with secondary teachers and college faculty this academic year to develop a Technical Skill Assessment system for the state’s secondary and postsecondary career and technical education programs as required in the Carl D. Perkins Act.
Meetings have been scheduled in the following career pathways:
- Banking Services; Business Finance; Insurance; and Securities & Investments
- Biotechnology Research & Development – Agriculture, Food, & Natural Resources
- Consumer Services
- Engineering & Technology – Mechanical Engineering
- Food Products & Processing
- Hospitality & Tourism – Travel & Tourism, Lodging, and Recreation, Attractions, & Amusements
- Legal Services
- Marketing Communications
- Maintenance/ Operations – Architecture/ Construction
- Programming & Software Development
- Transportation, Distribution, & Logistics – Transportation Operations; Logistics Planning & Management Systems; & Transportation Systems/ Infrastructure
Teachers and faculty in these career programs (based on identified CIP codes) will be receiving an e-mail in the next 2 weeks inviting them to participate in the upcoming Fall Meeting.
