Call for Proposals: Keeping our Faculty of Color and American Indian Faculty Symposium

The Minnesota State Office of Equity and Inclusion is partnering with the U of M to offer the Keeping our Faculty of Color and American Indian Faculty Symposium.  The Symposium has issued an open call for proposals for workshops (http://idea.umn.edu/keeping-our-faculty/call-proposals) and you are invited to submit a proposal for a workshop on practices to recruit, retain, and advance faculty of color and American Indian faculty. We would love to have good representation from Minnesota State.

Here is the announcement and call for proposals:

The University of Minnesota is pleased to announce the eighth of these Keeping Our Faculty Symposia. We invite you to join us as we gather to engage cross-disciplinary theories, rigorous scholarship, and innovative practices to advance conceptual, empirical, and practical work to recruit, develop, and retain American Indian faculty and faculty of color.

Solicitation of Symposium Topics

We seek proposals for scholarly papers, panels, workshops, presentations, best practices and posters related to recruiting, retaining, and advancing American Indian faculty and faculty of color in academia. As always we encourage new voices to join our conversation on topics including, but not limited to, the following questions:

How to Submit

Authors must submit a pdf copy of their proposal (500-750 words, not including references) by November 20, 2018.
Submissions can be for individual proposals (15-20 minutes) or for an entire session (75 minutes) inclusive of time for discussion.
We encourage presentations representing multiple institutions and/or disciplines. The number of presentation sessions is limited.
