Creating Accessible Course Documents

Join a short course through the Network for Educational Development with fellow colleagues from Minnesota State who want to make their course documents accessible to those who use a screen reader.
This three week short course provides Minnesota State faculty and staff and opportunity to practice making digital materials accessible. The course will introduce participants to basic techniques for using tools available in the Microsoft Office suite including Word and PowerPoint. Additionally, participants will get an opportunity to update web pages posted to a D2L Brightspace course site using the provided HTML editor in D2L Brightspace.
After completing the course, participants will be able to:Â
- Describe the importance of having accessible course materials
- Identify the degree of accessibility of current materials and technologies
- Create or revise course documents and HTML pages to be accessible
