Submit a Proposal for the “E”ffordability Summit and Apply for Travel Support

Minnesota State is a sponsor of the annual “E”ffordability Summit held in person at University of Wisconsin-Stout, in Menomonie, Wisconsin, on April 3-4, 2024. Registration is free!

This year’s summit focuses on “Accessibility.”

Academic and Student Affairs at the Minnesota State system office invites faculty, staff, instructional designers, librarians, and others to join as a presenter, attendee, or both! 

Call for Proposals 

The Call for Proposal period has been extended to February 29, 2024.

This year’s summit focuses on “Accessibility.” We encourage you to share your experiences and innovations related to adopting and advancing open educational resources, lowering educational costs, and enhancing the sustainability of open education programs. Topics may include OER adoption and creation, inclusive access programs, library initiatives, and adapting “non-standard” materials to replace traditional textbooks.

Deadline is February 29, 2024

Travel Support

The Minnesota State Educational Development and Technology (EDT) unit will pay for up to (10) individuals’ travel to the “E”ffordability Summit for Minnesota State employees who are presenting at the conference. Minnesota State faculty and staff whose proposal to present at the conference is accepted by the conference will be eligible to apply for travel support of up to $500 from EDT to attend the conference.

Faculty and staff are responsible for adhering to their campuses’ travel approval process. All submitted expenses must comply with the 2024 Commissioner’s Expense Reimbursement guidelines.

All presentations receiving travel support should acknowledge the support of Minnesota State Educational Development and Technology unit.  Specifics of the acknowledgement will be provided upon awarding of travel support. 

Apply for travel support by March 7, 2024.

About the Conference 

The “E”ffordability Summit is a free regional conference that focuses on the use, development, and creation of quality and affordable curricular content.

Hosted at the University of Wisconsin-Stout, the Summit invites attendance from students, faculty, technologists, librarians, campus store professionals, administrators and anyone else interested in the use, development, and creation of curricular materials in the K-20 environment.

Topics discussed include open educational resources, inclusive access, equitable access, teaching and learning practices and commercial textbooks/materials and much more.
