Many people use a keyboard instead of a mouse to navigate and interact with digital content. Ensure all users can access your content and its interactive elements through a keyboard without getting stuck in a keyboard trap.
How?
Test the content yourself. Try to navigate all parts of your digital content using the keyboard alone.
- Use the Tab key to move through the different elements on a page.
- Use Shift+Tab to move backwards.
- Use arrow keys on drop-down menus.
- Use the escape key or the activation keys like enter/return or the spacebar to interact with different elements.
