Ensure your content is keyboard accessible

Many people use a keyboard instead of a mouse to navigate and interact with digital content. Ensure all users can access your content and its interactive elements through a keyboard without getting stuck in a keyboard trap.

How?

Test the content yourself. Try to navigate all parts of your digital content using the keyboard alone.

Try taking the No Mouse Challenge and review more keyboard shortcuts, courtesy of the State of Minnesota IT Services.

Digital Accessibility Tips

Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act: All Minnesota State employee electronic documents and course materials must adhere to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA standards by April 24, 2026. These guidelines provide a comprehensive framework to ensure that content is perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for all users.
