As we start the 2025-2026 academic year, we celebrate the dedicated work of Minnesota State faculty and staff, whose commitment to student success powers each semester. Guided by that same commitment, the NextGen team is building modern systems and processes to better serve students and support Equity 2030.
Policy and Process Alignment
A critical component of the Student phase of NextGen is Policy and Process Alignment (PPA). This includes evaluating policies and governance to determine the campus processes, system policies, and Workday configuration that will best serve students.
Early alignment work has shaped the initial prototype and will inform decisions in future project stages. Project Update
This summer, project teams designed a prototype to represent core Workday Student functionality for the college and university sectors and gathered detailed insights into student-related processes.
In December, the project will enter the Align and Confirm Validate stage, and the prototype will be shared across colleges and universities. At the same time, Plan stage activities will continue, as the project team meets with representatives from colleges and universities, gathering insights to inform the foundational design of Workday Student and Student Worker; this work will continue through February 2026.
