What assumptions might educators or peers make about students who may be underrepresented in a STEM program, and how can those assumptions be challenged? How might students’ personal backgrounds and skill sets contribute to understanding STEM from different perspectives and experiences?
In this interactive session, participants will explore a model of inclusion to help enact practices and policies that foster inclusion in classrooms, schools, and workplaces to transform everyday STEM learning and engagement for all.
In this session, participants will:
- Explore a model of inclusion that fosters equitable practices in classrooms, schools, and workplaces
- Learn strategies to dismantle prevalent myths about STEM education
- Engage in collaborative discussions to define what inclusive practice looks like in their own institutions
