The NED has partnered with Math Pathways staff to offer educational development opportunities tailored to support Minnesota State mathematics and statistics faculty. View the flyer.


Description

This book club focuses on Grading for Equity by Joe Feldman. We will critically analyze our conventional grading methods, develop a vision for grading that is accurate, bias-resistant, and motivating, and explore practices that promote equitable grading.

Participants should expect to join synchronous monthly Zoom meetings held from 3-4 p.m. on the following dates:

Audience & Compensation

This learning community is intended for Minnesota State math faculty as part of the Math Pathways grant. The Minnesota State Math Pathways grant will provide funding for a copy of the book and a $250 stipend (including fringe, payable upon successful completion of the book club) for the first 20 Minnesota State mathematics faculty to register for the book club. If you are interested in this opportunity but are not Minnesota State math faculty, please contact Katie Smieja (ksmieja@sctcc.edu) or Jana Anderson (janaanderson@fdltcc.edu) to be notified if additional spaces become available.
