Short Course
Learn practical strategies to create equitable and engaging video conferencing classes/meetings. Experience and practice how to model and maintain equitable and accessible spaces in a video conference environment (Zoom, Teams Meetings, etc.).
Participation in at least 2 of 3 weekly Zoom meetings is required to complete this course. Meeting date/times:
- Wednesday Jan. 29, 2-3pm, CST
- Wednesday Feb. 5, 2-3pm, CST
- Wednesday Feb. 12, 2-3pm, CST
Learning Objectives
- Reflect on the experience of participating in inclusive video conferences.
- Adopt video conference facilitation techniques that support inclusive teaching methods.
- Practice strategies for maintaining equitable learning spaces during video conferencing sessions.
- Apply strategies to support accessible video conferencing sessions.
Suggested Audience
Faculty (Full-time and part-time), Instructional Designers and Technologists, Faculty Developers/Trainers, and Concurrent Enrollment instructors.
Estimated Time Commitment
Most participants are able to complete this course by committing 4-6 hours per week.
