LoriBeth Larsen
English, Reading, and Global Studies instructor at Central Lakes College
OER offered LoriBeth the opportunity to incorporate Critical Pedagogy into her courses. LoriBeth will be sharing how she revised Introduction to Humanities to include diverse perspectives and Critical Literacy to offer students strategies for academic literacy skills using Pressbooks and incorporating H5P.
Danielle Sullivan
Associate professor of English and Program Leader of English Education at Bemidji State University
Danielle researches culturally sustaining, trauma-informed English Language Arts pedagogy. Her recent scholarship has been published in Teaching English in the Two-Year College and is forthcoming in the book Teaching Black American Speculative Fiction: Equity, Justice, and Antiracism. She is passionate about educational equity and advancing antiracism in education, and these passions were carried into her OER work as she developed a freshman composition course.
Open Educational Resource (OER) Community Conversations are open forum conversations for all to share, discuss, and learn from colleagues in the Minnesota State OER community. Hosted by Karen Pikula, the OER Faculty Development Coordinator, these conversations are virtual, hour-long meetings held twice per semester and feature a guest speaker on a topic of interest.
