OER Discovery and Introduction to Advocacy

The 4th OER Librarian’s Workshop Day has been reconfigured into a virtual format and presents 2 separate entry points for engagement based on background knowledge and experience.

Entry Point #1: OER Discovery and Introduction to Advocacy
September 18, 2020 @ 8:30 am – 12:00 pm

Description

This virtual event is for librarians who are new to OER and related resources. Participants will spend time discovering how to find OER and items with ancillary materials, in addition to gaining familiarity with Creative Commons Licenses. Additionally, participants will learn from established OER faculty-library relationships about how to initiate engagement with faculty and OER. This workshop is intended to be both informative and actionable including time to engage in activities that can be implemented or shared on campus at the end of the session.

Academic librarians are critical partners in efforts to provide open educational resources (OER) for students and faculty. Educational Innovations is happy to announce an opportunity for librarians and library staff from across Minnesota State to come together to network with colleagues, learn more about OER efforts across the system, and identify how librarians can be leaders and partners in our OER efforts.
