The Professionalism Pact (Summer 2024)

NED: Foundations

Professional fluency is a concept we’ve been consciously working on at Lake Superior College in one form or another since 2014. As we have emerged from the pandemic, we are seeing an even greater need to help students shore up their professional skills: meeting deadlines, communicating effectively, showing respect, taking personal responsibility, and working in teams, for example. Now, we have AI like ChatGPT to consider, and the question is: how do we ask students to practice professional behaviors and give feedback to them on those behaviors? A challenge! Let’s share strategies for how to accomplish this.
