Meet the Keynotes
We’re excited to bring you two local experts who will ask you to listen as they amplify the voices of teachers, students, and the community.
Rose Chu | Educator and Changemaker

Rose Chu is an experienced educator dedicated to the tireless pursuit of educational equity and excellence for children and youth. She is on a mission to transform how we talk about, view and relate to the teaching profession so as to restore the prestige the profession deserves in our society. She is igniting a social movement that encourages talented people to become teachers, especially those from communities of color and American Indian communities. She is currently an elected school board director of Roseville Area Schools and a 2022 Bush Fellow.
Anton Treuer | Professor and Author

Anton Treuer (pronounced troy-er) is Professor of Ojibwe at Bemidji State University and author of many books. He has presented all over the U.S. and Canada and in several foreign countries on Everything You Wanted to Know About Indians But Were Afraid to Ask, Cultural Competency, Racial Equity, Strategies for Addressing the “Achievement” Gap, and Tribal Sovereignty, History, Language, and Culture. Anton’s equity, education, and cultural work has put him on a path of service around the nation and the world. He voiced several stormtroopers and a droid announcer in the Ojibwe language dub of “Star Wars: A New Hope,” released in August 2024.
This year’s theme: LISTENING
Our upcoming CTE Summit centers on a deceptively simple yet profoundly impactful theme: Listening.
In a noisy world, listening is not passive – it’s an intentional act of leadership. Turn down the volume and tune in to the voices that matter most- the people we serve.
Why listening, and why now?
- The pace of change continues to accelerate. To adapt and innovate effectively, we must listen closely to the needs, challenges, and aspirations of those we serve.
- The most impactful solutions often come from those closest to the problems. Listening amplifies voices that have too often been marginalized and overlooked.
- Data speaks volumes – if we’re attuned to hear it. Sharpening our listening skills helps us glean actionable insights from the wealth of information at our fingertips.
Throughout the conference, you will listen to the keynotes and presenters share what they have heard from students, teachers and faculty, community members, and workforce and employer partners. Let’s amplify the power of listening to transform education, strengthen communities, and shape a more connected future for career and technical education in Minnesota. Register now and be part of this conversation.
