College and Adult Education Co-Req Partnership Group
Virtual kick-off meetings (choose one):
October 31 at 2:00 – 3:15 p.m. or November 1 at 10:00 – 10:15 a.m.
About the Group
Formerly the Dev Ed/ABE Affinity Group, the College and Adult Education Co-Req Partnership Group started in late 2020, brought together both Adult Basic Education (ABE) and college practitioners who wanted to explore partnering to positively impact students enrolled in developmental education courses for the rigors of credit-bearing coursework at Minnesota State campuses.
Now in its fifth year, the focus has shifted to exploring effective partnership models in the co-requisite (co-req) environment. With planning underway to move developmental education (dev ed) courses to a co-req format by 2027-28, the focus of this group is now about learning from others throughout the state who are either currently planning or actively teaching co-req courses. The composition of the group is a mixture of Adult Education and Minnesota State educators and administrators.
Anyone who has a role or interest in designing, delivering or assessing co-req courses is invited to join. The Affinity Group is sponsored by the Minnesota Department of Education, ABE Unit. All voices are welcome to help shape local and statewide collaboration strategies in this voluntary exchange of resources and information.
