3:00 p.m.

Faculty and instructional designers recognize that AI applications can deliver significant learning benefits to courses. In this webinar from the Minnesota Learning Commons, Karen LaPlant and Zala Fashant from Metro State University examine how AI tools can be used in course design to enhance assessments and learning activities and create ways to save time so instructors can focus their time on teaching students.

Karen and Zala will provide practical ideas where AI is used for quality achievement, using artificial intelligence to develop and expand human intelligence. Participants will consider the latest pedagogical best practices that will increase student learning and skill development needed for their careers.

Specific examples of course design ideas will be provided for assessments and rubrics including self-assessments, student assignments using AI, resource creation, and teaching and learning strategies to increase engagement and higher-level thinking.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Discuss the ethical concerns with using AI tools in teaching and learning.
  2. Discover ways to create rubrics, directions, assessments, and learning activities.
  3. Create teaching and learning strategies for courses.

Presented by Karen LaPlant and Zala Fashant from Metro State University.
