AI in Education: From Faculty Tools to Campus-Wide Implementation
September 24 | 11:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Join this interactive pre-conference workshop and sample how faculty are using AI to promote student learning and increase digital access. Examine one campus model to collaboratively develop equitable AI guidelines.
What to Expect
Participants can expect to explore AI’s transformative potential in higher education. If you’ve been intending to experiment with AI, but can’t seem to find the time, this workshop is for you! Check out the following video from the workshop facilitators.
Schedule Overview
In the morning participants will view demonstrations from faculty in the humanities and sciences showing current and potential uses of AI in teaching and learning. They will gain hands-on experience using AI for creating rubrics, quizzes, image generation, summaries, alt text, document summaries, images, and course outlines.
After lunch, participants will extend their learning by developing a brief AI training to teach colleagues how to implement these AI tools on their own campuses.
Throughout the workshop, we examine possibilities, address equity issues, and showcase AI applications in teaching and learning. Drawing from our spring 2024 faculty survey, this session provides a platform for participants to develop approaches to help them become AI champions at their institutions.
