Become and Equity and Inclusion Coordinator to assist in delivering educational development opportunities through the Network for Educational Development (NED) to advance academic equity professional development efforts on campuses.
The Educational Development and Technology unit in Academic and Student Affairs is seeking one Equity and Inclusion Coordinator to join two current NED Equity and Inclusion Coordinators.

Position Details
Eligible candidates must currently hold a position in a Minnesota State college or university. This assignment provides a credit release for 50% time during the academic year in addition to 3 credits distributed over the summer terms. This is a three-year, annually renewed, special assignment.
The coordinator will work from their current location of employment and at times may be asked to travel to system office and campus locations.
Responsibilities
- Identify and develop additional NED Academic Equity supports based on needs revealed during facilitation of NED Academic Equity offerings
- Co-facilitate the following NED Academic Equity and Equity by Design offerings (online 3-4 weeks):
- Equity 101 – Offered twice each calendar year (always in the summer)
- Equity by Design Onboarding – Offered course twice each calendar year
- Facilitate learning communities for campuses participating in the Student Success through Applying Equity by Design methodology opportunity
- Work closely with the Program Director for Educational Development as well as other Educational Development and Technology and Office of Equity and Inclusion staff to identify, update, and develop system office resources, primarily with the identification of critical faculty and staff resources. Specific deliverables and assessment as determined in collaboration each academic year.
Criteria for Consideration
- A current faculty member at a Minnesota State college or university with institutional support to be released of their teaching load over the fall, spring, and summer sessions 12 instructional credits for those represented by IFO or 15 instructional credits for those represented by MSCF.
- Demonstrated teaching and learning experience with issues of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Demonstrated understanding or experience of applying Equity by Design methodology.
- Demonstrated understanding of frameworks that would advance an anti-racist approach to educational opportunities for faculty.
- Strong communication and community building skills.
- Experience working/collaborating with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds.
- Background in social justice, race/ethnic studies, or related field preferred.
Full/Part-time/UFT/TPT faculty are eligible to apply.
Compensation
For college faculty members: The faculty member’s supervisor must be willing to release this faculty member from 15 instructional credits distributed over the fall, spring, and summer terms. Minnesota State system office will reimburse the college for costs associated with the salary and related fringe expenses of 15 credits for the identified faculty member.
For university faculty members – The faculty member’s supervisor must be willing to release this faculty member from 12 instructional credits distributed over the fall, spring, and summer terms. Minnesota State system office will reimburse the college for costs associated with the salary and related fringe expenses of 12 credits for the identified faculty member.
Additionally, faculty will receive 3 credits distributed over the summer terms.
Length of Appointment
- July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027
- Three-year appointment, annually renewed
