NED: Accessibility

Integrating accessibility professional certification campus-wide is a great way to ensure that your campus is inclusive and accommodates students with disabilities. Here are some steps to consider when integrating accessibility professional certification campus-wide:

  1. Evaluate certification options: Research and evaluate accessibility professional certification options to identify those that best meet your campus needs.
  2. Develop a certification program: Develop a certification program that includes training and testing to ensure that all staff involved in creating and maintaining digital content know accessibility requirements.
  3. Encourage participation: Encourage all staff creating and maintaining digital content to participate in the certification program. This includes web developers, content creators, and instructional designers.
  4. Provide support: Support staff participating in the certification program, such as access to training materials and resources.
  5. Integrate certification into job descriptions: Integrate certification into job descriptions to ensure that all staff involved in creating and maintaining digital content meet accessibility requirements.
  6. Monitor compliance: Monitor compliance with accessibility requirements and certification program completion to ensure that your campus is inclusive and accommodates students with disabilities. By integrating accessibility professional certification campus-wide, you can ensure that your campus is inclusive and accessible to all students, including those with disabilities.
