Measuring the Accessibility Status of Higher Education Institutions
Measuring the accessibility status of higher education institutions involves evaluating various aspects to ensure that students with disabilities can access educational resources and participate fully in academic activities.
Here are some key factors typically considered in such measurement:
- Physical accessibility,
- technological accessibility,
- academic support services,
- communication accessibility,
- policy and compliance,
- training and awareness,
- feedback mechanisms, and
- collaboration with disability services offices.
Participants will learn how to keep a pulse of the campus accessibility status, which involves conducting audits, surveys, and assessments to evaluate the institution’s performance in these areas and identify areas for improvement.
