The Minnesota State Colleges & Universities and the Minnesota Department of Education will offer a Technical Skill Assessment Workshop on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Holiday Inn & Suites in St. Cloud, Minnesota. The workshop is intended for secondary and postsecondary career technical educators including teachers, faculty, administrators, Perkins consortia coordinators, chief academic officers and curriculum & assessment specialists/coordinators to learn more about the Minnesota Technical Skill Assessment project with a special focus on the selected FY10 and FY11 career pathways where core competencies and state-approved technical skill assessments have been identified.
Participants will: 1) Gain an overall understanding of the Minnesota Technical Skill Assessment project; 2) Review the core competencies, blueprint, and state-approved technical skill assessments for the specific FY10 and FY11 career pathways; 3) Take practice assessments from various vendors for the specific FY10 & FY11 career pathways; 4) Increase knowledge on using and interpreting data from technical skill assessments; and 5) Dialogue with educators in their specific discipline.
