Last week MnSCU hit a milestone! There are one hundred (100) online courses from MnSCU institutions that are Quality Matters (QM) Certified courses.
Over the past few years faculty from many of the MnSCU institutions have been participating in Quality Matters training and have worked to create courses that meet QM Standards. There are now 100 courses that have been reviewed using the formal QM Course Review process and have been recognized by QM for meeting QM standards.
These courses were submitted by faculty from twenty-two (22) different MnSCU institutions and represent the work of seventy-six (76) different faculty. A complete list of courses, the year the course met standards and the name/s of the faculty member who created each course can be viewed at http://minnesota.qualitymatters.org/review/recognized-courses/ These faculty members were each awarded a certificate as well as a “seal” from QM that indicates the year the course met standards. This seal is meant to be displayed on the course they designed.
The course peer review process is a voluntary process. It involves a comprehensive and rigorous review of an online (or hybrid) course by a team of 3 Certified Peer Reviewers trained by QM to apply the Quality Matters rubric and provide feedback about the course. Courses that meet standards are listed in a national database of recognized courses.
