Forty-one QM Course Certifications – Fall 2014

The 41 courses attached were submitted by faculty from 12 different MnSCU institutions for a formal Quality Matters course review. The formal review for each of these courses was completed during the first half of FY15. (There are currently an additional 54 courses undergoing review – applications will be accepted until Feb. 28.)

Quality Matters (QM) is an inter-institutional, faculty-centered, collaborative peer review process that is designed to certify the quality of online and blended courses. The rubric used in the review process is supported by current academic research and instructional design principles. Quality Matters Course Certification indicates that the course meets nationally recognized standards of quality course design. The formal course review process involves a review of an online or hybrid course by a team of three Certified Peer Reviewers who are all experienced online faculty. The majority of the Certified Peer Reviewers serving on these teams are from other MnSCU institutions.

Each of these courses is now listed in QM’s national database of certified courses and each faculty member has been given a QM seal to display with the online or blended course. An up-to-date list of all courses that have met QM Standards within the MnSCU & University of Minnesota systems can be found at http://minnesota.qualitymatters.org/
