Yesterday at the Capitol
Even though yesterday was President’s Day and a vacation for many, the Legislature was in session. The Senate State and Local Government Committee approved SF280, the contract ratification bill, yesterday afternoon. As a reminder, the bill ratifies the IFO, MSCF, and MSUAASF contracts and the MnSCU administrator plan. The bill is making its way through the committee process in both the House and Senate.
Also yesterday, the chairs of the DFL and Republican parties announced they’re moving the state’s precinct caucuses from February to March 1, 2016. In a letter to Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon, Republican Party Chair Keith Downey and DFL Party Chair Ken Martin stated they’re moving the caucus date to March to meet the requirements for the 2016 Presidential nominating process as outlined by the national party committees.
