TO:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Chief Student Affair Officers, Chief Academic Officers, Deans
Colleagues,
The memorandum is an update on the RFP process for the system-wide assessment for course placement instrument from Jessica Espinosa and Greg Rathert, Co-Chairs of the RFP Steering Group. The deadline for vendors to submit proposals closed on Friday, July 10, 2015. MnSCU received one comprehensive proposal that met the RFP requirements to provide a suite of assessments in reading, writing, math, ESOL, and computer skills. This proposal came from the College Board for their placement instrument, Accuplacer. During the RFP process, ACT announced on June 18, 2015 that they will sunset their course placement product line, Compass, by December 31, 2016.
Because there is only one finalist and it is MnSCU’s current provider, we will not be conducting the oral presentations, product demonstrations, or product trials as previously planned. There will be an additional communication sent in early fall 2015 as the RFP process comes to a close and the final recommendations are submitted to the Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs, Ron Anderson.
Any questions can be directed to Jessica Espinosa and Greg Rathert.
