From 2001-2015, eFolioMN was offered free-of-charge to all users by the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) and in partnership with the University of Minnesota. As of July 1, MnSCU will no longer provide free sites, but eFolioMN users can keep their accounts by paying a discounted $9.99 annual subscription fee to the current site owner, Avenet.net. Alternatively, there are a variety of free or other low-cost portfolio tools, such as Linkedin, Google sites, livebinders, WordPress, and clippings.me that can be used if they meet your security standards and your specific needs.
Here’s what’s going to happen if you are a current eFolio User:
As of July 1, a “Renew Account” link appeared at the top of your eFolioMN account. If you wish to renew, just click on the link and follow the online credit card payment instructions to pay the $9.99 subscription fee for your eFolioMN account to remain active and available.
In September and October:
The websites of your portfolio will continue to be viewable on the web. When you log into your account, you will be directed to the payment screen and you will need to pay the $9.99 subscription fee to manage your content or build pages in your ePortfolio. Your entire account – sites, pages and content – will remain intact and be waiting for you!
In November and December:
The websites of your ePortfolio will no longer be viewable on the web. When you log into your account, you will be directed to the payment screen. You will need to pay the $9.99 subscription fee to reactivate your sites and to access the administrative tools to manage your content or build pages in your ePortfolio. Don’t worry – you won’t lose any content! All users who renew their accounts by December 31, 2015, will have fully restored accounts.
