We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mike McGee as System Director for Education Industry Partnerships in the Workforce Development and Customized Training Unit of Academic and Student Affairs, system office. Mike will begin these duties on October 1, 2015.
Mike has broad experience in workforce development and partnerships with business and industry. Most recently, he served as Dean of Manufacturing, Math and Science at Hennepin Technical College in Brooklyn Park and Eden Prairie working with fifty faculty and eight staff. In this role, he partnered with two MnSCU Centers of Excellence in manufacturing and engineering, consulted with faculty on curriculum reviews and assessment of student learning, engaged industry advisory committees and professional organizations in support of his program areas. Prior to this position, he served as Dean of Academic Affairs at Minneapolis Community and Technical College (MCTC) for over ten years. Mike has been a consultant evaluator/peer reviewer for the Higher Learning Commission for five years, a director of a national law enforcement center, and has taught in MCTC’s law enforcement program. Mike spent eight years as a police officer for the St. Louis Park Police Department.
Mike has a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Minnesota State University Mankato and a B.A. degree in Criminal Justice from St. Cloud State University
