The annual report on the Urban Teacher Program at Metropolitan State University has been sent to the Legislature. The UTP is designed to enable teacher candidates to master the knowledge and skills needed to serve the increasingly student diverse student body in the Twin Cities metropolitan-area public schools, and to increase diversity among the state’s teachers. Metropolitan State University is the lead institution in a collaboration involving Inver Hills Community College, Minneapolis Community and Technical College, and other two-year-colleges.
