Minnesota’s Education for Global Learning (EGL) Consortium offers a long-term study abroad experience in Costa Rica. Applications are being accepted for the 2017 program, January 28 to March 25. Please advertise it on your campus.
Students can . . .
Speak better Spanish: Classes are held at Instituto de Cultura y Lengua de Costarricense (ICLC) in Alajuela, Costa Rica. Local professors help students learn Spanish according to their level. Doing a homestay provides daily practice speaking and listening.
See the sites: Students can travel from jungles to volcanoes to beaches, experiencing Costa Rica’s great biodiversity—with the group or on their own.
Enjoy the warmth: Day-time temperatures range from 70-90 degrees, so classes are often held in open-air classrooms. The local hospitality is warm, too. Costa Ricans love visitors and will help you have a good experience.
Get a great value: EGL strives to keep this quality experience affordable. For approximately $8000, the program includes tuition for 14 credits, textbooks, program fees, homestay, insurance, two meals a day, support staff 24/7, and trips to local points of interest.
