Welcome to Week 3 of the 2018 legislative session. This morning the House Ways and Means Committee is scheduled to discuss the 2018 February Budget and Economic Forecast, as well as hear an overview on tax conformity issues. Lawmakers learned last week that they have a $329 million projected budget surplus to work with this session.
With the first committee deadline less than three weeks away, expect busy committee agendas. Minnesota State will be presenting their $224.5 million bonding request in both the House and Senate higher education committees tomorrow (see below schedule).
