The Minnesota Online Quality Initiative (MOQI) is sponsoring the following low cost online professional development this fall semester. Information about these online sessions is available here. Join us for these professional development opportunities which focus on improving online or blended courses.
Full-time, part-time, and adjunct instructors from the Colleges and Universities of Minnesota State are welcome to participate. Quality Matters most directly applies to online and blended courses but is also applicable to web-enhanced and face-to-face courses.
Applying the Quality Matters Rubric (APPQMR): September 25 – October 9
Location: All online over two weeks – no class meetings.
Registration closes September 21.
The APPQMR provides an in-depth look at the QM Rubric and describes how the rubric standards can be used as part of a review process (informal or official) that leads to course improvement. During the workshop, participants will look at a sample course to identify areas for improvement, make decisions about whether or not standards are being met, and identify areas for course improvement.
Improving Your Online Course (IYOC): October 23 – November 7
Location: All online over three weeks – no class meetings.
Registration closes October 19.
The IYOC workshop explores the QM Rubric and provides a framework to improve the quality of online and blended courses. Participants use the QM Rubric to review their own course using the QM Essential Standards, review things like course policies, general navigation, course alignment, and basic accessibility among other things; and, creates a course improvement plan to use for future course improvements once the workshop has concluded.
