Senate higher education committee chair announced
The Minnesota Senate Republican Caucus issued a press release this afternoon announcing some changes in the Senate committee structure and Senate chairs. Rep. Paul Anderson, R-Plymouth, will serve as the chair of the Higher Education Finance and Policy Committee.
Other committee changes include Senator Eric Pratt, R-Prior Lake, will chair the Jobs and Economic Growth Finance and Policy Committee, replacing Senator Jeremy Miller, R-Winona, after his election to become Senate President.
Senator Carla Nelson, R-Rochester, will chair a combined E12 Finance and Policy Committee; and Senator Karin Housley, R-St. Mary’s Point, will chair the newly formed Family Care and Aging Committee that will focus on issues important to families in the 2019-2020 biennium.
Representative Paul Anderson, R-Plymouth, will serve as the chair of the Higher Education Finance and Policy Committee. Rep. Anderson will be replacing Lt. Governor Michelle Fischbach who took the oath of office on May 25, 2018 to become Lieutenant Governor following the appointment of Tina Smith to the United States Senate.
Rep. Paul Anderson was elected to the Senate in 2016 and represents District 44, Plymouth, Minnetonka and Woodland.
