Become a Member of the Dev Ed/ABE Partnership Affinity Group

Discussing, Sharing, and Enhancing Opportunities for Developmental Education and Adult Basic Education Collaborations

Anyone new to a Minnesota State college and is interested in how Developmental Education and Adult Basic Education (ABE) partnerships work to improve student outcomes are welcome to join this affinity group. Membership is voluntary and you can attend all or some of the meetings.

There are four meetings this academic year, with two time options each to accommodate schedules. More detailed information about joining the Affinity Group and meetings dates can be found in the flyer.

Examples of roles include

From two year colleges:

  • faculty
  • college deans
  • administrators
  • anyone with developmental education reporting responsibility
  • advisors

From the ABE side:

  • adult education instructors
  • program administrators

During the academic years 2020-22, through the participation of over 80 Minnesota State faculty, ABE teachers, and program and college administrators, Minnesota can boast about their numerous highly remarkable partnerships between ABE practitioners and Minnesota State campuses delivering value to students and the programs that serve them. Dev Ed/ABE partnerships have been identified at 20 Minnesota State two year colleges. The statewide Affinity Group has had a large part in creating awareness about the success of these partnerships and for the creation of valuable resources demonstrating highly successful and shareable practices.
