Equity Minded, Quality Focused, and Student-Centered in Accreditation and Assessment
In collaboration with the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), this 4th annual conference provides updates from the commission, best practices, and highlights of our Minnesota member institutions, and to discuss emerging trends related to accreditation and assessment.
HLC representatives will lead a workshop on Substantive Change Emphasizing Updates for Distance Education and will be present to answer questions from its member institutions of Minnesota State throughout the conference.

Keynote Speaker

Dr. Joyce Ester has served as the fifth President of Normandale Community College since being appointed in May 2014. She holds a Master of Arts and Ph.D. in Education from the University of California, Santa Barbara; and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Northern Illinois University.
Prior to her time at Normandale, Dr. Ester served as President of Kennedy-King College in Chicago, Associate Vice President at Bakersfield College (CA), Assistant Vice President for Judicial Affairs and Division Planning at California State University, Fresno (CA), and Assistant Dean of Students and Judicial Affairs at the University of California, Santa Barbara (CA).
Dr. Ester is on the Board of Trustees for the Higher Learning Commission, Gallaudet University, Bloomington Convention & Visitors Bureau, and Interfaith Action of Greater St. Paul. Dr. Ester served on the AACC Commission on College Readiness. She was appointed by the Governor and currently serving on the Young Women’s Initiative Executive Council and Cabinet that works jointly with the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota.
