Keynote
Open Education’s North Star: Minnesota Rising, Minnesota Leading
Dr. Robin DeRosa will explore the benefits of open education, with particular attention to how statewide collaboration can generate positive returns for Minnesota students and institutions. After surveying the landscape of research and data around the benefits of integrating OER and open practices into teaching and learning, Robin will make the case that Minnesota has an opportunity to lead in the open education space, and that a bold vision for our state’s open future could also drive us toward a sustainable and learner-centered educational ecosystem for our schools and the communities they serve.

About the Keynote Speaker
Dr. Robin DeRosa is the Executive Director of the Open Education Network. Based at the University of Minnesota, the OEN is a collective of institutions and consortia that work collaboratively to make higher education more affordable, equitable, and engaging for learners. She has previously worked as a high school English teacher, a professor of literature and Interdisciplinary Studies, the founder and director of a faculty development center, and as the library director at a public university.
