Beyond Compliance: Applying Disability Justice and Universal Design in Higher Education (Fall 2026)

Accessibility in higher education must extend beyond legal compliance and individual accommodations to address systemic barriers that affect participation, learning, and belonging. This webinar explores how disability justice principles and Universal Design for Learning can inform more equitable teaching practices, course design, and campus environments.
Participants will examine how institutional policies, instructional technologies, assessment practices, and physical learning spaces can unintentionally reinforce ableism. Through practical examples, the webinar will demonstrate how proactive accessibility strategies can reduce barriers while maintaining academic rigor and supporting diverse learners.
