Creating a Culturally Responsive Syllabus (Summer 2024)

The course syllabus is, as William Germano and Kit Nicholls note in their subtitle of their 2020 book Syllabus, “The Remarkable, Unremarkable Document that Changes Everything.”
So, it’s the summer, the perfect time to be thinking about how you might consider elements within the syllabus that can remove barriers to understanding the system of your class and how it works—basically, make it a more welcoming document and, as a result, a more welcoming class. Come to the webinar to get and share ideas, and let’s chat about how we’re going to communicate expectations around Generative AI, too.
