Exploring Flexible Course Delivery (Summer 2025)

In-Person Workshop

Location: System Office, St. Paul, MN

This interactive 2-day workshop is designed to explore flexible course delivery. Participants will examine the benefits and challenges of various flexible delivery methods, including HyFlex, bi-modal, and tri-modal approaches. Attendees will also workshop equitable teaching, technology tools, and evidence-based strategies for crafting effective Flexible courses that resonate with today’s learners.

Workshop Learning Objectives 

After completing the course, participants will be able to: 

  • Define Flexible course delivery (HyFlex, multi-modal, bi-modal, tri-modal) and explain why it’s important. 

  • Explore technology and pedagogical considerations of Flexible course delivery 

  • Identify equity-minded techniques and strategies that support student success in a Flexible class based on the Four Values of learner choice, equivalency, reusability, and accessibility.

  • Develop a fully articulated implementation plan for Flexible course design and technology.

Suggested Audience 

Faculty (Full-time and part-time), Instructional Designers and Technologists, Faculty Developers/Trainers, Deans/Directors, and Concurrent Enrollment instructors. 

Expense Reimbursement

The training provides mileage, lodging, and catered meals for participants – as is allowed under expense reimbursement policies.

Participants are asked to share what they learn in the workshop with their campus in some way.

Because of expense reimbursement and campus sharing, we ask that interested folks complete a brief application (6 questions). This selection process also seeks to support opportunities across the system, aiming for balance in bargaining unit representation.
