Filling Potholes: Creating Assessments that Matter

Creating a powerful learning experience that aligns with equitable teaching practices involves assuring students believe they matter: that they matter in the class community itself and that they are completing work that matters. In this webinar, participants will learn how mattering aligns with authentic assessment practices and the process for creating an authentic assessment.
Outcomes
Participants will:
- Identify the intersection between authentic assessment and mattering
- Examine ways to create authentic assessments that matter to students
- Create an authentic assessment to meet a course learning outcome solving a real-world problem
