Humanizing Teaching and Learning in an AI World (Summer 2026)

May 27 @ 1:00 PM - 2:15 PM
Free
NED: Academic Technologies

This is part of a 2026 webinar series on Teaching with AI. Register for the full series.

As AI tools become more visible in higher education, faculty are grappling with how to integrate them without losing what matters most: human connection, trust, and meaningful learning. In this 75‑minute interactive webinar, participants will explore how humanizing teaching practices can guide thoughtful, ethical, and effective use of AI in teaching and learning.

Faculty will leave with practical strategies for using AI to reduce cognitive load, support timely feedback, and create space for more meaningful interaction—while maintaining academic integrity, equity, and student agency in an AI world.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Explain how humanizing teaching practices support effective learning in an AI‑rich environment, including how trust, belonging, and instructor presence help students use AI responsibly and productively.
  • Identify ways AI tools can be used to support humanizing practices, such as improving clarity, accessibility, feedback, and instructor availability—without replacing relational teaching or professional judgment.
  • Apply at least one human‑centered, AI‑supported teaching strategy that aligns with their discipline, modality, and student context while reinforcing transparency, care, and student agency.
