OER Community Conversations: February

Description
This session, Fran will be sharing OER-related projects that she is involved with at the system office, including the Open Textbooks Pilot project and the Zero-Textbook Cost Transfer Pathways (Z-TP) initiative. She will also touch on the importance of collaboration and the need for developing OER that is accessible, culturally responsive, and rooted in learning science.
About the Presenter
Fran Kennedy is an Instructional Designer at Minnesota State as part of the Educational Development and Technology Unit. Prior to this role, she served as an Interim Director for the Center for Teaching and Learning and Guided Learning Pathways Project Director at Inver Hills Community College and Dakota County Technical College. She also served as an English Faculty member for many years at various community colleges where she taught both college-level writing courses as well as developmental courses. She is passionate about designing thoughtful learning experiences that are rooted in equity.
Open Educational Resource (OER) Community Conversations are open forum conversations for all to share, discuss, and learn from colleagues in the Minnesota State OER community. Hosted by Karen Pikula, the OER Faculty Development Coordinator, these conversations are virtual, hour-long meetings held twice per semester and feature a guest speaker on a topic of interest.
