Teaching Using Social Virtual Reality
April 22, 2020 @ 3:15 PM - 4:15 PM
The Minnesota State XR Community of Practice invites faculty and staff from
Minnesota State campuses to the event Teaching Using Social Virtual Reality
The COVID-19 pandemic is forcing educators to confront the challenges of teaching in a socially distant world. While asynchronous online learning continues to represent the bulk of online learning experiences, new synchronous methods of course delivery are emerging. In this meeting, staff and faculty at St. Cloud State University will introduce teaching applications using Altspace, a 3D world using virtual reality.
Curious how this would work? Attendees will have an opportunity to participate in Altspace using a virtual reality headset or their laptop/desktop computer. Those unable to attend in Altspace will be provided a viewing room using Zoom.
Planning to attend using Altspace? Download Altspace for your desktop/laptop computer or VR headset ahead of time at https://altvr.com/get-altspacevr/
