Communications to Include Text Messaging—The Marketing and Admissions development team is expanding the communications web application to include text messaging. When ready, campus staff will be able to use the communications web application to send text messages. Unlike letter and email messages, however, the student must “opt-in” before an institution can send a text message to them.
To opt-in, students will accept a text message agreement, validate their cell phone number and grant permission to their institution via the student portal. Campus staff will then be able use the communications web application to create, send and track text messages to their students who have given them permission to do so.
