Conversation with Jon Kerr, I-BEST

The MnSCU system office will sponsor a day long training and deep dive conversation from 9-3 PM on September 17, 2012 in St.Paul with Jon Kerr, Director of I-BEST from the State of Washington.  The agenda of the day will focus on: exploring models and key elements of contextualization- I-BEST and Minnesota FastTRAC Adult Career Pathways,  funding and programmatic strategies to scale existing partnerships or develop new partnerships to contextualize developmental education instruction through working with Adult Basic Education and career and technical MnSCU programs, and new emerging models for contextualization of general education courses including Academic I-BEST. Research studies have shown a 29% higher completion rate for developmental learners coming through I-BEST versus traditional developmental education.
