Federal Grant Opp: International Students at CCs

$11M+ available for an organization or consortium to provide all administrative and educational services related to the orientation, placement and support of international students in community college certificate programs (in groups of no more than 16, and no more than four from any one country) from about Feb 1, 2013 to Dec 31, 2015. It is the Bureau’s intent to award one to six cooperative agreements (one base year plus two option years) for an estimated total amount of $11,635,000 in the base year and $8,400,000 in the following two option years, pending availability of funds.

Applicants  should “place students in fields that may include agriculture, applied engineering, business management and administration, early childhood education, information technology, media, and tourism and hospitality management in programs lasting approximately one academic year and not to exceed one calendar year. Programs of study should lead to a professional certificate.”

ACTION:

Proposals are due October 15, 2012. Approximately $28.4 million is available to support one to six awards. Colleges and universities are eligible to apply.
